West Leeds: House fire in Wortley

A three-storey house in Wortley, which was unoccupied, has been almost destroyed by fire, according to reports.

The fire was reported shortly after 3am today on Oldfield Lane, Wortley, close to the New Worltey Conservative Club.

Fire crews from Leeds, Hunlet and Stanks attended the incident, which was still ongoing at 7.30am today.

A fire service spokesman said: “The building was empty and unused, it was about 15m by 20m.”

It is understood fire tore through the three-storey building and was seen coming out of the roof. No-one is understood to have been injured in the incident.
