THESE tuneful youngsters learnt performance skills from the best when they took part in a one-off workshop and performance led by the chorus of Opera North.

Led by vocal director Sally Egan and Martin Wettges, Opera North’s chorus master, the children from Windmill Road Primary School in Belle Isle learnt the basics before performing the opening chorus of The Bartered Bride - the company’s current production - together.

It was all part of In Harmony, a year-round music education project which will see the youngsters sing in choirs, play in orchestras and receive instrument tuition under the guidance of Opera North. The aim of the project is to improve the children’s educational attainment as well as developing their musical skills.
