Firefighters attened the fire at around 2am this morning.

A woman was taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a house in Wakefield in the early hours of this morning.

The fire was in the cellar of a property on Normans Way.

Two teams of firefighters from Wakefield fire station were called to the scene at around 2am and they tackled the fire using two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a high-powered ventilation fan.

An ambulance took the occupant of the house to hospital for a precautionary check.
