Wakefield woman in court on fake wedding charge

A POLISH woman appeared before a judge with four men following a police raid on an alleged fake marriage.

Would-be bride Ewelina Piotrowska, 23, of Shepley Street, Wakefield, was arrested along with her intended husband Nahid Chaudhray, 31, at a ceremony at Calderdale Register Office in Halifax in March this year.

Yesterday Piotrowska appeared before Recorder Ian Harris at Bradford Crown Court with Saeed Akhtar, 33, of Hammond Street, Halifax, Jam Roze, 43, of Cedar Court, Halifax, Kamran Qamar, 34, of Westfield Place, Halifax, and Mohammed Akhtar, 42, of Darnoy Street, Wakefield.

Piotrowska, Saeed Akhtar, Qamar and Roze had their conditional bail extended by the judge.
