A WEST Yorkshire schoolgirl who visited Nepal just two weeks before the country was struck by the first of two earthquakes will complete a mini-triathlon to raise money for areas hit by the disaster.

Eight-year-old Abigail Brook will run, cycle and swim to raise funds to help communities she visited that are now struggling in the aftermath of the earthquakes.

Abigal, of Sandal, Wakefield, has organised the triathlon, which involves a 1km swim, a 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run. Abigail will tackle the challenge with her friend and fellow Sandal Castle Primary pupil Jacob Storey on May 30.

So far they have raised more than £1,500 to help the appeal. To sponsor Abigail and Jacob, go to http://fnd.us/c/byxD0/sh/a4kLN4.
