Have your say

Did you know that you can meet some new penguin pals right here in Leeds?

The popular Humboldt penguin enclosure at Harewood House was designed to replicate the coastline of Peru, where the breed comes from. In the wild, the birds feed on anchovies, squid and sardines which are found in the Humboldt Ocean, off the west coast of Peru. At Harewood, staff feed the penguins whitebait and sprats – fish that are similar in size to their natural diet, although they will also eat small herrings.
