A mystery vintage wedding dress which captured hearts across the world has reached bids £6,400 on eBay as hopefully hopeless romantics line up to bid for it.

The dress was handed in to St Gemma’s charity shop in Horsforth with a note attached.

Now the charity has put the dress up for sale on its charity eBay store and a bidding frenzy has broken out, with 62 bids so far.

The auction ends on Friday at 4.49pm.

The description reads: “This beautiful vintage wedding dress was donated to us in our charity shop in Garforth by a gentleman who attached a loving note to the dress.

“We hope we find a beautiful bride who will spend together as many happy years as he did.”
