A DELIVERY driver was robbed as he dropped off goods at a store in Leeds.

The 50-year-old was targeted after parking up on Lowtown to make a drop-off at the Henry Krank shop in Pudsey.

As he went to get a parcel from his van, a man appeared and tried to grab the item.

A struggle ensued before the suspect punched the driver to the ground following the incident on Thursday, November 19.

He then got into a dark-coloured vehicle and drove off with the parcel towards Swinnow Lane. The package contained plastic boxes used for storage.

Leeds District CID’s Det Con Ian Johnson said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim who was simply doing his job and didn’t expect to be attacked in this way.

“He received bruising to his neck and was left shaken by the incident.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC 6610 Johnson via West Yorkshire Police’s 101 phone number or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
