Ups and downs for Leeds city centre bar

An unloved bar has been taken back under the control of the owner who has revamped it to form a specialist gin and craft beer bar.

Leeds businessman George Georgio has converted what was the previously rented out upper-floor bar, Sid’s Little Egg, on Bridge End.

Set to open today, (July 14) it is now going to be the ‘Upstairs/Downstairs’ bar in a collaboration with the, aptly named, downstairs bar that George has run for the last two years as a sports bar, which will be staying the same.

Don’t expect to find a glass of Gordon’s or Bombay Sapphire in here though as the bar will be stocked with independently produced craft gins, such as Leeds Gin, made right here in the city.

The usual tap beers will make way for imported European lagers such as San Miguel and Amstel and craft beers from independent breweries.

And the previously Victorian-themed decor has been brought into the 21st century too. Take a look when the new-look venture opens today from 3pm. Free prosecco on arrival for customers and more drinks offers throughout the night.

Live music starts at 6pm.
