Two more arrests after POCA raids

Police have arrested two men a week after raiding six addresses including a narrowboat home, a penthouse and detached house, as part of a Proceeds of Crime investigation into counterfeit cigarettes.

Officers returned to a house on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, Thwaite Gate and detained two 46-year-old men on suspicion of conspiracy to money launder, suspicion of possession of counterfeit cigarettes and suspicion of a commercial burglary in Cross Green on November 24.

The arrests come after 6,000 worth of lighting equipment found in a lorry during a raid on a container yard in Hunslet last week was linked to the Cross Green burglary.
