POLICE in Leeds have launched an appeal trace victims of a series of assaults that happened in a Leeds suburb in the early hours of today.

Two men, aged 20 and 29, were arrested when officers were called to the area and are currently in custody.

It is believed a number of assaults occurred between 2am and 2.30am in Brownhill Terrace; at the mini-roundabout at the junction of Beckett Street, Stanley Road and Harehills Road; and in Harehills Road between the junctions of Ashton View and Ashton Mount.

At the time officers were unable to trace any of the victims involved.

Acting Detective Inspector Mark Atkinson, of Leeds District CID, said: “The two men arrested remain in custody at this time and we are trying to establish the full circumstances of what has occurred.

“We urgently need to identify the victims of the assaults and would ask that anyone involved contacts us immediately.”
