A group of travellers have tonight made their way onto disused land in Leeds city centre.

A convoy of several caravans has arrived on land adjacent to Whitehall Road E and Globe Road.

The land below the railway bridge, near to the River Aire, has been disused for some time, but today was being worked on as officials ripped out overgrown plants.

At about 6pm, the first caravans began to arrive at the site, as shown on this video, and remain on site now.
