The M621 near Leeds has been reopened after closures in both directions.

Police closed the road between junction 1 and the M1 at junction 41 after receiving reports of a man on a bridge at 2.40pm today.

West Yorkshire Police’s road policing unit said there was severe congestion on the M1 North at junction 43 (Leeds) and junctions 1 to 7 of the M621 South.

Closures and diversions were put in place but have been lifted after the man was brought down safely.
