Teenager seriously injured in ‘hit-and-run’ incident in Batley

A man has been arrested over an alleged hit-and-run incident which left a teenager seriously injured.

The 15-year-old boy was on Blakeridge Lane, Batley, at about 6.35pm on Friday when he was hit by a Peugeot Partner van, which then left the scene.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Witnesses are asked to call West Yorkshire Police on 101.
