A driver was left seriously injured after his car hit a street sign in Leeds on Sunday morning.

The 60-year-old man was travelling along Cardigan Road in Headingley when his car left the road and hit the metal post at about 10.15am.

The man was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
