Man seriously injured after car hits lamppost in east Leeds

A man was seriously injured when the car he was in came off a road in Leeds and hit a lamppost./

The 27-year-old was a passenger in a Lexus IS200 which left Easterly Road dual carriageway in Gipton, left the road and hit a lamppost at about 10.10am on Saturday.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Another passenger, a 26-year-old man, was treated at hospital and released later the same day.

Witnesses should call PC Richard Tarkenenso at Carr Gate via 101.
