Severe delays are building on the A63 in Yorkshire after a dog found its way onto the carriageway.

Traffic officers are now heading to the scene, between the M62 and the A1034, Highways England said at 8.45am today (Thursday).

There are currently long delays on the stretch of the A63 near Hull because of the "loose dog" on the road.

Staff at Northern Rail have been praised for their work to reassure passengers on board a Harrogate train that hit and killed a man last week.
