AN ENTRY slip road to the M621 motorway near Leeds city centre is expected to remain closed until after 5pm today following an accident.

Police were called just before 2pm to the eastbound entry slip road to the M621 at junction 2 from Elland Road.

Police said a 53-year-old woman driving a Fiat 500 struck a motorway barrier after suffering a suspected medical episode at the wheel.

The woman was taken to hospital, but the slip road remains closed while police investigate the incident.

The Highways Agency has said the slip road is expected to be re-opened between 5pm and 5.15pm today.
