Leeds cyclist who died in crash with pedestrian named

An elderly cyclist from Leeds who died after a collision with a pedestrian near Harrogate has been named.

Christopher Charles Jennings, aged 77, was on Follifoot Lane in the village of Kirkby Overblow yesterday afternoon when he collided with a 72-year-old man.

Mr Jennings, from Rawdon, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary after the 1.40pm incident but died a short time later.

The pedestrian, from Harrogate, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was treated before being released.
