Leeds biker who died in Drighlington Bypass crash named

A biker from Leeds who died in a crash on one of the main roads between Leeds and Bradford has been named.

Steven King, from Morley, was riding a Honda CBR 600 that was involved in a collision with a Fiat Punto on the A650 Drighlington Bypass at about 7am today.

Police and paramedics were called, but Mr King, aged 64, was confirmed dead at the scene.

The bypass was closed between the A58 Whitehall Road and the A650 Wakefield Road as investigations were carried out.

The 51-year-old woman who was driving the Punto was not injured and stopped at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash should call the West Yorkshire Police major collision enquiry team on 101.
