Emergency repairs will force parts of a key roundabout off the M62 to shut from tomorrow.
The Chain Bar roundabout at Junction 26 near Bradford will be reduced to a single lane at 8pm on Friday until 6am next Tuesday (June 28).
Contractors will be repairing a burst water main during the closure period. The damaged main supplies 9,000 people living nearby, and all approach roads will also become single-carriageway.
Highways England project manager Esref Ulas said:
“We understand that this work is going to cause some significant congestion at this busy junction in particular on Monday but it is essential Yorkshire Water fixes the water main to avoid any significant damage to the road surface.
“We would advise drivers to avoid the area if they can or allow extra time for their journeys while this work is carried out. We would like to thank drivers for their ongoing patience.”
