Three people rescued by firefighters after building collapses in Leeds

Three people have been rescued after part of a building collapsed in Leeds.

It happened at a commercial building on Florence Street, Harehills, at about 11.30am today (Tuesday).

Three people had become trapped in a courtyard and had to be rescued by firefighters.

No injuries have been reported.

A structural engineer and utilities company were called in to make the building safe.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire said: "Structural collapse at a commercial premise, three people trapped in safe area in courtyard, released by Fire Service personnel.

"Attempts by Fire Service to make building safe working with a structural engineer and utilities."
