Three held by police following outbreak of ‘disorder’ in Dewsbury

Police arrested three men after an outbreak of disorder in Dewsbury.

Officers were called to a report of a large group of people gathered on Pilgrim Crescent in Dewsbury Moor at about 10pm yesterday.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said members of the group were “brandishing weapons”.

The group quickly dispersed after the officers arrived on the scene.

Two of the men arrested in connection with the incident are aged 30 while the third is 33. All three today remained in custody.

Kirklees CID’s Det Insp Mark Walker said: “We are working closely with the community and our partners and there will be increased neighbourhood policing patrols in the area to reassure local residents.”
