An artistic creation dubbed ‘The Finest View’ has been named winner of the Tour de Yorkshire land art competition.

The 70m high artistic work, created on Sutton Bank using 1,000 litres of white biodegradable paint, shows a horse, a ram and a wild boar riding a penny farthing.

Commissioned by the North York Moors National Park Authority and Hambleton District Council (HDC), it shows the animals looking out over what James Herriot called “the finest view in England”.

Its creators have been presented with their trophy as it is named the winner of the land art competition where 2,000 votes were cast.
