Student fights eviction bid by University of Leeds

PROTESTERS gathered outside court in support of an international PhD student who is fighting attempts to remove her from a university halls of residence.

Sanaz Raji, an American PhD student, has been trying to overturn a Leeds University decision to stop her scholarship and is now campaigning to be allowed to remain in her student flat and to extend her visa until the case is resolved.

Leeds University want to take possession of the flat.

A possession hearing at Leeds County Court was adjourned yesterday. (Jan 28)
