Stonegate Road Meanwood: Blaze at derelict school tackled by firefighters from across Leeds

A blaze at a derelict school in Leeds has sparked a large firefighter response.

Firefighters from five different stations were called to the blaze on Stonegate Road at around 7pm last night (May 16).

The fire, which police also attended, involved a former school. Investigations are ongoing to established the circumstances surrounding it.

Fire engines from Moortown, Cookridge and Leeds attended, using breathing apparatus and hoses to extinguish the flames, while aerial support was given from Bradford and Stanningley.
