Sporting heroes will help kick off the countdown to Christmas in Leeds tomorrow evening.
Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn and boxing champ Josh Warrington have been announced as last-minute additions to the glittering list of star guests at the city’s annual festive lights switch-on party.
Also appearing will be players from United and Leeds Rhinos as well as Yorkshire Carnegie chairman Sir Ian McGeechan.
Previously-confirmed guests include X Factor favourites Sam Bailey and G4 as well as Yorkshire boy band My Forever.
Fans will also be able to take part in a sing-along to much-loved tunes from hit movie Frozen.
Around 15,000 revellers are expected to flock to the event, which is being held in Victoria Gardens and gets under way at 7pm.
It is being organised by Leeds City Council and radio station Heart and has the Yorkshire Evening Post as a media partner.
Coun Lucinda Yeadon, the council’s executive member for digital and creative technologies, culture and skills, said: “The Leeds lights switch-on is always a brilliant way for all the family to begin the exciting countdown to Christmas, and once again we have put together another fantastic line-up to entertain the crowd.”
Tomorrow’s event is being hosted by Heart presenters Dixie, Emma and Rich Williams.
