The pair are joining the station after spending three years presenting the Saturday morning show on Metro Radio in the North East.

Alesha said: “Congratulations to Stu and Kelly for the Breakfast Show.

“I was their official first guest and it looks that they are off to a great start.”

She added: “I look forward to coming back to Leeds again to share some more of my music with Radio Aire listeners.”

Presenters Stu and Kelly are joining fellow Radio Aire presenters Scott Makin, Debbie Mac, Connor Phillips, Michael Blades and Tony Shepherd.

Speaking about her new role, Kelly said: “Leeds is such an amazing city and I can’t wait to call it my home and be part of the radio station.”

Speaking about his new earlier wake-up time, Stu said: “I’m really looking forward to finding new ways to do my hair at half 4 in the morning.”

The pair hope to build on the success of their previous work at Metro, where they consistently beat Radio 2 to the Saturday morning top spot across the North East.

Radio Aire’s new breakfast show will be on air every weekday morning from 6am onwards.
