ENTRIES are open for this summer’s Pontefract Prince of Wales Hospice annual cyclothon.

The event, to be held in Pontefract Park on Sunday May 18, will feature three courses covering 20, 45 and 60 miles.

The cylothon, which is now in its 20th year, has raised more than £250,000 for the Halfpenny Lane hospice.

Last year’s event saw a record 460 riders take part, raising more than £20,000.

A series of family events were also held in Pontefract Park for the first time last year.

Places cost £20 for the 60 mile race, or £10 for the 20 and 45 mile races. Under 16s can race for an entry fee of £5.

For more information, or to register for the event, visit the hospice website at or call 01977 708 868.
