TWO schoolgirls have joined forces to host a charity fundraiser and help raise awareness of their conditions.
Georgina Grace Thompson, nine, and Poppy Wadsworth, seven, will host The Crystal Ball on Saturday, May 10.
The glittering event at the Walled Garden Marquee at Temple Newsam, Leeds, will include live music and dinner.
The event has been organised by their families and well-wishers to raise funds and raise awareness of their disabilities.
Poppy has a condition called cloaca, and has had countless operations to untangle her bowel and help with other medical problems.
Poppy is fundraising for Children with Hirschsprung’s and Recta Malformations (CHARMS).
Fellow Poppleton Ousebank Primary School pupil Georgina Grace was born with congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV), which resulted in the damaging of her optic nerve and led to a stroke.
Georgina is epileptic and suffered brain damage, meaning she is unable to use her left arm and leg, and her family have set up The Georgina Grace Trust.
The pair have seen a whole host of national and regional celebrities supporting them.
Tickets to the ball cost £65 per person and include dinner and live entertainment.
