Sharp shooting archery fans were given a chance to show off their bow skills and be a sporting hero at the Royal Armouries.

To celebrate the Rugby World Cup the team at the museum showcased a series of sporting and combat demonstrations as part of their Sporting Heroes weekend.

This year marks the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt and visitors were treated to a display of arrow skills during the Golden Arrow Archery Competition.

The winner of the tournament will be presented with their trophy at the museum today.

There were also a series of archery demonstrations throughout the weekend as well as Taekwon-Do and fencing sessions with Michael Clayton, sensei of the Royal Armouries’ Taekwon-Do and Kobudo clubs.
