Sharpe and Symons in ice-off

FANS of TV's Dancing on Ice are being warned to brace themselves for a night of tough choices tomorrow.

Leeds-based rivals Lee Sharpe and Emily Symons are 6/4 joint favourites to be given the boot from the latest round of the celebrity skating competition.

And bookmaker Ladbrokes believes the votes of viewers from Yorkshire could decide which contestant is taking their final bow come the close of the evening.

Spokesman Nick Weinberg said: "It looks like being an eviction battle between Lee and Emily. We can't split the pair."

Former Leeds United player Lee, who lives in Wetherby, sailed through last week's programme, bagging a personal best mark of 24 out of 30 from the judges for his routine.

Emmerdale actress Emily, however, scored just 18 and was only spared the agony of taking part in the elimination skate-off thanks to the public's phone votes.

Instead it was pop princess Lisa Scott-Lee who went out after a tense face-off with boy band hunk Duncan James.

Tomorrow's show promises to be the most demanding yet for the five remaining skaters, who have been asked to incorporate props including an umbrella and a suitcase into their routines.

Ladbrokes make rugby hero Kyran Bracken 1/2 favourite to win the series, followed by actress Clare Buckfield (4/1) and Duncan (5/1). Emily is a 9/1 shot, while Lee is the 12/1 outsider.

They are all hoping to emulate the achievements of the top-rated show's first series winner, Leeds-born Coronation Street and Fat Friends actress Gaynor Faye.

She saw off The Bill's Stefan Booth and ex-child star Bonnie Langford in last March's final - with the help of the YEP's Go Gaynor Go! campaign.

*Dancing on Ice is on ITV1 at 6.55pm tomorrow. The skate-off goes out at 9.55pm.
