CCTV caught him an hour later in Wharfe Way, carrying shopping bags, possibly from Morrisons.

Police released the image this morning in the hope it will jog someone’s memory.

Sgt Jeff Dulson, of Wakefield District Police, said: “We are very concerned for Alan’s welfare as he requires regular medication. “We would like to hear from anyone who has seen him.”

He is just over 5ft, slim and was wearing a grey waterproof jacket with a hood, blue trousers and black trainers. He may have been wearing glasses.
