UTC Leeds is all set to open its doors for the first time next week – as it announces 14 new members of teaching staff.

The brand school on Hunslet Road is the first in the Leeds City Region to provide academic and vocational qualifications which focus on advanced engineering and high-tech manufacturing as well as traditional subjects.

The school is now ready to open on September 12 after it obtained the seal of approval from Ofsted and the Department for Education.

Principal Mark Kennedy, who will be joined by 14 new members of staff including assistant principals Alexander Berry, Sarah Wilson, Chris O’Reilly, Steven Parkinson and Emily Devane, said: “After an intensive recruitment drive, we’re very happy to be welcoming a group of talented teachers to UTC Leeds to ensure our pupils receive a first class education.”
