A family was left terrified after masked robbers burst into their home and stole the keys to their car at knifepoint.

They were at home on Friday September 16 in New Temple Gate when two masked males got in brandishing knives.

A 43-year-old man was held down by the suspects while they searched for the keys.

They then drove off in his blue Volkswagen Golf R.

The car was found abandoned by police the day after the incident in Ellerby Lane. It had earlier been seen in Beeston.

Property has also since been found in Beckett Street.

PC Darren Machell, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victims and is something that is still affecting them in their daily lives. The suspects have used weapons and threats of violent and we urgently need to identify the people involved.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
