Road closed as crews tackle warehouse fire

Six fire crews have been scrambled to a fire at a warehouse in Armley.

Armley Road was closed as officers treated the 30m by 30m blaze at Yorkshire Plastic Recycling Ltd’s warehouse, in Branspeth Place, after receiving a call today at around 6.15pm.

Fire crews from Gipton, Hunslet, Leeds, Odsal and Stanningley tackled the blaze using six fire engines and support pumps. Two large jets and three breathing apparatus were used by the firefighters.

Nobody was injured during the fire.
