Strong winds shut down a road leading to Leeds City Station after a 50metre section of fibreglass was seen hanging from a building today.

Emergency services responded to reports that a large piece of debris was hanging from the roof of a building near the Nawaab restaurant, at Whitehall Road and Aire Street, at around 12noon by closing a section of the road.

Police closed the scene to traffic, while firefighters used a ladder to remove the material. No-one was injured by the debris and the road was reopened at 1.50pm.
