An historic Leeds venue looks set to become an upmarket bar and restaurant.

The Leeds Club, a former gentlemen's club which later became an events and conference venue. was recently sold and national pub chain Marston's have applied for permission to develop the Grade II-listed building.

The buyers want to open a branch of their premium brand, Revere, on the Albion Place site. They already run Greek Street cocktail bar The Lost and Found under the branding, as well as the Florentine in Sheffield.

Revere bars serve gastropub-style menus, steaks, craft beers, cocktails and wine.

According to the proposals, the new bar would be split over two floors, with a separate dining room, and the new business would create around 45 jobs.
