WEST Yorkshire Police’s drive to recruit 300 new police officers this year continues tomorrow (June 24) when the force will start accepting applications as the latest recruitment window opens.

The force is particularly keen to receive applications from people from diverse groups as part of West Yorkshire Police’s commitment to better represent the communities they serve.

Two live web chats have been planned for 2pm on Monday, June 27 and Thursday, June 30.

The webchats will offer potential recruits the opportunity to find out more about the recruitment process and ask any questions they may have about joining the force.

Mark Burns-Williamson, Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire, announced the recruitment plans in February. He said: “This is the first time we have been able to undertake open recruitment for about five years and presents a real opportunity to start rebuilding the numbers and increase the diversity within West Yorkshire Police.”

This latest recruitment window is scheduled to be open from tomorrow to Sunday July 3.

The application form, along with more details about the live webchats, will be available on the West Yorkshire Police website at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/joinus.
