Pop star Peter Andre stepped out of the recording studio to serve up some tasty treats to unsuspecting shoppers in Leeds today.
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ and ‘Insania’ star made a special appearance in the city centre to dish out free food to passersby.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his flying visit, he said: “People in Leeds are very unique and have a chilled out attitude.
“They’re not snobby and they don’t over-react – they’re right in the middle!”
Peter, 42, put on his chef’s whites at a pop-up ‘surf and turf’ shack on Briggate today.
The I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star cooked up dishes alongside chef Richard McGeown as part Iceland’s new ‘Power of Frozen’ campaign.
He added: “It’s been amazing. I learned a lot today.
“It’s really good to get involved in the cooking side of things.
“It’s been an amazing opportunity to cook some of this food and get people to try it.
“I’m a great cook but not a chef .
“I usually just plop it on the plate – I lack that finesse and presentation!
“Richard helped me make the food look beautiful and put the icing on the cake.”
Speaking about his love of Leeds, Peter said: “I have been to Leeds many times.
“One of my really dear friends Danielle – Mel B’s sister – is from here.
“She is a really good friend and I knew Mel years ago, back in the day.
“I’ve also been to Leeds for concerts and I was here for Disney on Ice too.
“I’m quite familiar with Leeds now.”
The city centre crowds were treated to a range of free lunchtime samples, including scallops, seabass, salt and pepper squid and venison burgers.
Peter added he may be back in Leeds soon, as he’s looking at doing arena tours in the future.
