AN abandoned pony suffered horrific injuries after being set on fire and left for dead in a sickening attack.

Yobs poured oil on the pony and set fire to her while she was tied to a tree in the Kirkthorpe area of Wakefield on Tuesday night. The young malnourished pony suffered severe burns. Steph Broadhead rescued the pony and has called her Hope.

Steph is caring for Hope in Ackworth near Pontefract.
