Police have issued a warning after a woman was forced to run away from a man who followed her when she got off a bus in Leeds.

The woman left the bus on Shadwell Lane, opposite Darkwood Way in Shadwell, at about 5.30pm on Tuesday and started to walk home through the Elmhursts.

Officers said she noticed a man behind her, who followed her all the way to the ginnel that runs onto Oakdene Way.

A spokesman for the Leeds outer north east neighbourhood police team said: “Once she got to the ginnel she started running, the male also ran then just stopped and walked off.”

The man was white, 6ft and stocky with blond hair and a round face. Police said he was wearing large, orange rigger-type boots that dragged on the floor as he walked, grey jogging bottoms and a hooded top.
