Police name biker killed after Leeds crash with bin lorry

A motorcyclist who died after being in collision with a bin lorry has been named as Damian Porritt.

Mr Poritt, 44, from Morley, was riding his white and red Yamaha YZF motorbike when it collided with a red bin lorry on the A650 in Tingley.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the junction with Capitol Boulevard at around 6.20am on Tuesday.

Mr Porritt was treated for his injuries but he died at the scene.

Det Con Kerry Gibson, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “I would continue to appeal for anyone who was travelling along the A650 around the time of the incident who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision, or who witnessed the collision itself to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”
