Police investigation after Leeds car crash in early hours

Police are appealing for witnesses after a road crash in the early hours of Sunday morning which left a driver with serious injuries.

The incident happened on the A656 Barnsdale Road in the Allerton Bywater area of Leeds.

It happened at around 2.55am on Sunday.

Police say that two vehicles - a Mercedes van which was travelling in the direction of Leeds and a Skoda Octavia which was heading towards Castleford were involved in a collision with each other.

As a result of the incident the driver of the Octavia was left with serious injuries. 

West Yorkshire Police is now appealing for any information or witnesses in connection with the incident to help them with their on-going enquiries and investigation.

Any witnesses and information regarding the incident should report to police on 101 and quote log number 261 of Sunday September 18.
