POLICE are investigating an afternoon brawl involving several men near Leeds city centre.

Officers are looking into claims a man was stabbed with a pen during the incident, on York Street near the railway arches.

They cordoned off an area under one of the arches shortly after 3pm today.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “We received a report that a large group of men had been involved in a fight.

“A 34-year-old man has been arrested.”

The arrested man was taken to hospital for treatment to a possible stab wound.

Anyone with information should call City and Holbeck CID via 101.
