A group of travellers have parked up on a Leeds village green - just weeks after the last time police and Leeds Council dealt with a similar incident.

A group of caravans appeared on the site of Alwoodley Village Green at about midday today (July 20) and residents soon reported the travellers to the local authorities.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed it has issued the travellers with a Section 61 order in conjunction with Leeds Council, which in effect means the group must move on.

It is expected that the caravans will have left the site by Friday morning.

It is the second time in a matter of weeks that a group of travellers have parked up at the site, but it is not clear whether it is the same group.

Here is our report on the first time, from June 30.
