Photo gallery: Rainbow warriors on the run at Leeds Harewood House

An explosion of colour was on show at the iconic Harewood House estate in Leeds at the weekend when fundraisers took part in a 5km fun run.

Families, friends and colleagues fetching cash for St Gemma’s Hospice were blasted in pink, green, blue, purple and orange at the event on Saturday between 11am-3pm.

Along the course participants were met by ‘Powder Rangers’ who took the honours of painting them at five colour stations. People could run, walk or jog the sponsored event, for which they were challenged to raise £150.

There was also live music, food and drink, and a Pimms and Prosecco tent.

Participants took to social media to praise the event.

Mark Hobson posted: “Literally covered in paint at #LeedsColourRun.”

And Sophie Lascelles said: “@stgemmashospice what a beautiful day for a colour run @HarewoodHouse such a great cause!!”

All the cash raised during the event will help St Gemma’s Hospice provide care and support to more than 3,000 people and their families who are affected by terminal illness.

The charity is based on Harrogate Road, Moortown.
