Photo essay: Leeds Whippet brewers fetch up cask ales

A team of five dedicated brewers in Leeds are working hard to deliver quality cask ale to the people of Leeds.

The independent Whippet Brewing Company, based in the Brown Lane Trading Estate in Holbeck, produces four core beers for pubs in the city.

Their ales include English Whippet EPA, Snap Dog EPA, Little Curre oatmeal stout and House Dogge standard bitter.

The team is led by Sam Parker (top left) and also includes head brewer Ross Nicholson, Dr Katie Marriott, former publican Ian Emms and John Thompson.

Sam founded the brewery in January 2015 and its first test batch was served at the trans-pennine beer festival East vs West in May of the same year. An official launch of the four core ales was then held in June 2015 with the initial batches being produced at Burley Street Brewery.
