Have your say

A little over a year ago Matthew Pedder was evacuating his pet shop of reptiles after the Boxing Day floods hit Kirkstall.

He said: “It is just a matter of keeping on top of things and advertising on Facebook and other social media to get it out there that we and the rest of Kirkstall are back and we’re trading.”

He said repairing the flood damage and moving back had been a long and arduous process.

“It was a nightmare. But the council were very helpful, as well as the volunteers, and our friends and customers were absolutely wonderful.”
