A judge also recommended that Czech national Ladislav Geci, 68, be deported after completing his prison sentence.

A court heard that Geci had stored the images on computers at his home in Gipton in a way that enabled them to be distributed to others.

Duncan Ritchie, prosecuting, said police executed a search warrant at Geci’s home on St Wilfrids Crescent on June 9 this year and seized computers and a memory card. The equipment was analysed and found to contain 20 videos at category A - the most serious level of offending.

Officers also discovered 110 still images featuring bestiality.

Mr Ritchie told the court how file sharing software was also installed on the computer. The offending is thought to have taken place for more than two years. Geci pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of children, possession of indecent photographs of a child with a view to them being distributed, making indecent images of a child and possession of extreme pornographic images.

The court heard Geci has no previous convictions committed in the UK but had committed offences in the Czech Republic. John Bottomley, mitigating, said Geci pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage.

He said Geci lived with his wife and they had come to live in the UK in 1999.

Mr Bottomley said Geci and his wife were both in poor health. He added: “He is struggling to come to terms with his offending.”

Judge Guy Kearl, QC, jailed Geci for four months. He also recommended that the Home Office consider his deportation when he is released from custody.

The judge said; “You and others who view and distribute indecent images and movies involving the physical and sexual abuse of children create the market.

“Without you and people like you, the market would not exist.
